“FCDallas.com chatted with defender Walker Zimmerman at the SuperDraft after he was selected by FC Dallas with the No. 7 pick. Here are his thoughts on a range of topics.

On getting drafted in the top 10:

This was a really humbling experience for me. I’m just happy to be a part of FC Dallas, really happy to be a part of MLS and this draft. It’s a crazy day. You just never know what to expect.

On joining a team that values him:

It’s definitely exciting. I want to play for the team that wants me the most. There’s always mock drafts and everything (predicting teams). But, when FC Dallas selected me, I was really happy.”
